The next phase in the evolution of Thunderbolt has been announced by Intel. The new USB4 port technology can deliver up to three times the capability of Thunderbolt 4. In fact, Intel has stated that it will feature 80 gigabits per second speeds both ways, support for DisplayPort 2.1, compatibility with Thunderbolt 4 cables, and a speed mode that allows the port to deliver 120Gbps up and 40Gbps down.
